Upcoming Events:
Activities Offered:
Barn Talks - Informal program where we spend 3-4 hours at someone’s farm, exchanging ideas and discussing facilities, feeding, equipment, vaccinations, parasite control, health issues, etc. Includes demonstrations or discussions on hoof trimming, drawing blood, fecal
sampling, and tattooing.
Showmanship Clinic - We do a clipping demonstration for both meat and dairy goats, then allow people to get hands-on with a tame goat and teach them the basics of moving around a ring and presenting their animals.
Cheese & Soapmaking Classes - Provide hands-on training for creating these products from goat milk.
Butchery Class - Learn the process from start to finish, include the typical goat cuts.
Tours - We love to see other goat places and learn about their operation.
AI Clinic - A quick and simple class to get you started on the path to artificially inseminating your goats.
Semen Collection - We work with a collector to provide a central location for collecting semen of your special bucks.
Annual Conference - Best opportunity to learn about raising goats in the Dakotas. Great way to meet other goat owners and develop friendships.
Other Ideas??? The DGA is always open to new activities.
If you’d like to see one or more of these programs close to you, help us find a host location. We try to minimize costs to make our programs affordable for all.
